The legal part
1. What counts as “local”
This board exists for one reason: to connect people in and around San Angelo with work in and around San Angelo. So:
- Employers must have a real physical presence or regular operations in San Angelo or the Concho Valley — roughly Tom Green County and the surrounding counties (Runnels, Coke, Sterling, Irion, Schleicher, Concho, Menard, Crockett, McCulloch and neighbors; zip codes beginning 768 and 769). Franchises and chains qualify when the posting is for a location here.
- Jobs must be performed here: on-site, hybrid, or remote for a local company. “Work from anywhere” postings and national remote recruiting are not local jobs and won't be approved.
- Job seekers must live in the area or be moving here. A card is a person, not a staffing agency or a recruiter's roster.
Not sure? Post it anyway and tell us why it's local in the description. A human reads every submission and will use judgment — we'd rather hear from you than guess.
2. What's allowed (and what isn't)
The board follows the same content policy as every other San Angelo Studios service, including the Virtual membership:
- Nothing illegal. No roles that involve breaking federal, Texas, or local law.
- Nothing adult. No adult entertainment, adult content, escort or similar services.
- Honest compensation. Commission-only, multi-level marketing (MLM), gig, and contract roles are allowed, but the pay structure must be stated plainly. Posts that disguise a sales recruitment as a salaried job will be removed.
- Never pay to apply. No listing may ask applicants for money, “training fees,” gift cards, wire transfers, or bank details before hire.
- Fair hiring. Postings must comply with federal and Texas employment law, including equal-opportunity requirements. No preferences based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
- One company, one voice. Post as the business that is hiring, not on behalf of a client you don't disclose. Industries like CBD, cryptocurrency, firearms retail, and alcohol are fine when the business is legal and licensed.
- Gigs are welcome and free. Short-term, one-off, freelance, and project work can be posted by businesses or individuals at no charge. Gig listings run 30 days (renewable), the pay or rate must be stated honestly, and the same local and content rules apply — and as always, nobody may be asked to pay anything to take a gig.
- Get-involved listings are free, always. Nonprofit board seats, committee and advisory roles, volunteer leadership, internships, fellowships, and mentorships post at no charge, under the same local and content rules. They must be genuine civic or development opportunities from real local organizations — not unpaid labor dressed up as "experience," and never disguised sales recruiting.
3. Review, screening & removal
- Every job post, talent card, and claim is reviewed by a human before it appears. Automated screening also checks submissions for spam and scam patterns, non-local locations, and policy violations before they reach us.
- We may lightly edit a post for formatting, clarity, or length, and we may decline or remove any post at any time, for any reason, including reports from the community. You can take your own post down any time by replying to any of our emails.
- Posts removed for violating these rules are not refunded. Posts removed for other reasons are refunded for the unused portion of the current month.
- Job listings run 60 days and then come down automatically unless renewed. Talent cards run 60 days as well.
4. Job seekers & privacy
Looking for work is personal, so job seekers' privacy is built into how the board works:
- Your email, phone number, and resume are never displayed on the site or available through it. Only your name, headline, skills, zip code, and (if you add one) your LinkedIn link appear on your card.
- Employers reach you through a message form. We email you their message with their contact details attached. They only learn your email or phone if you reply. You can send your resume to a specific employer with one click from that email; the link we give them is private and expires in 30 days.
- We cap messages to any card at 10 per day to prevent harvesting, and we read every message's sender details in an admin copy so we can act on abuse.
- You can remove your card, or ask us to delete everything we hold about you, by replying to any of our emails. We delete it within 7 days.
What we collect and why
- From everyone: the information you type into a form, your IP address and browser details for spam prevention (via Cloudflare Turnstile), and basic usage counts such as listing views and apply-link clicks.
- From employers: business and contact details, and payment information handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.
- From job seekers: your card details, your resume PDF if you upload one, and the record of which employers messaged you.
- Email is sent through Resend. Our site and data are hosted on Cloudflare.
- We never sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it except with the processors above, when you choose to (sending a message or resume), or when the law requires it.
Our general Privacy Policy also applies.
5. Employers, pricing & billing
- Local small businesses (15 or fewer people, independently owned) post their first listing free; additional listings are $5/month each. Larger employers, chains, franchises, and institutions pay $25/month per listing. San Angelo Studios members post free. Featured placement (pinned to the top with a highlight) is $10/month on top of any base price. We confirm the tier you chose during review and may move a listing to the correct tier before publishing.
- Paid listings are monthly subscriptions billed by Stripe. Cancel anytime; a listing stays live through its paid period and comes down at the end. Listings also expire automatically at 60 days, which ends billing.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for your own hiring process. We don't screen applicants and we are not party to any employment relationship.
- Messages you send to job seekers through the board include your name and contact details so they can respond to you. Use them only to discuss the opportunity; never add seekers to marketing lists.
6. Sourced listings & claiming them
- To help job seekers, we sometimes publish “sourced” listings summarizing publicly posted openings from local employers, in our own words, linking to the employer's own application. These are labeled, rank below employer-posted listings, and come down with one click from the employer at any time.
- An employer can claim a sourced listing for free and take it over. To protect businesses, we verify ownership: the claim should come from an email at the business's domain or one listed on its website, Facebook page, or Google Business Profile. If that isn't possible, we'll ask for a photo of a business card or a voided point-of-sale receipt with the customer name SASJOBS. Unverified claims are not published.
7. The legal part
- San Angelo Studios provides this board “as is” as a free community venue. We are not an employer, employment agency, recruiter, or staffing service, and we are not a party to any communication, interview, offer, or hire that results from it.
- We review posts for policy compliance but do not verify the accuracy of any listing, the identity or qualifications of any job seeker, or the legitimacy of any employer. Use your own judgment and ordinary care — never share bank details, Social Security numbers, or payment before you have independently confirmed who you are dealing with.
- You are responsible for what you post and for complying with applicable law. You agree not to scrape, harvest, or automate access to the board or its messaging, and not to use it to send unsolicited marketing.
- To the fullest extent Texas law allows, SethLife, LLC and San Angelo Studios are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the board, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the listing in question in the preceding 30 days. You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising from content you submit or your hiring or job-seeking conduct.
- These terms are governed by Texas law, with venue in Tom Green County. We may update them; the date at the top tells you when. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
- Questions, reports, removals, or data requests: reply to any of our emails, use the contact page, or call (325) 400-9957.
